UT Extension Greene County is participating in a new program called Farmers’ Market Fresh. The Family and Consumer Sciences Agent and Program Assistant will have a booth at the Greeneville Farmer’s Market at the fairgrounds starting Saturday August 22nd running through end of September where they will be offering food demonstrations, recipes, and research-based advice on the best ways to select and store some of our favorite summertime items. The best part of the program – each person who stops by the booth will receive a recipe card for the food being demonstrated that day. At the end of the season, consumers could have an entire collection of recipes all featuring items fresh from the farmers’ market. Recipes to be featured include: apple salad, a refreshing blueberry smoothie, broccoli salad, corn relish salad, cucumber relish perfect for the summer-time hot dogs, green bean salad, a yummy yogurt peach parfait, a tri-pepper salad that will make you want seconds, summer squash with pasta, sweet potato pancakes, fresh tomato bruschetta, and cantaloupe salad. Tired but Happy

Wow, the Fair was verrrrryyy long. Six Nights in a row, till 10 pm, and late getting home and unloading was exhausting. But we made it ! All of us at GFM want to thank those that made it by to see us at the Fair.

We sold quite a lot of veggies, fudge, crafts and soaps while there. Made new friends, said hello to old ones.

Still surprised how many did not know we are under the livestock pavilion, but now that they know they will be coming to see us too. So please share with your friends, family and acquaintances.

We welcome new vendors, and new customers always.

Thank You,
Your GFM Vendors
