SPOTLIGHT OF THE WEEK

SPOTLIGHT OF THE WEEK
CREATIVE WHIMSY

My name is Terri Burnett and I am the owner of Creative Whimsy. I make crafts and create art. I guess I could be called a ‘Craftist’. I have been with the Greeneville Farmers Market since 2016. I began Creative Whimsy in 2014, before moving here from Kansas City, Missouri. I find it to be my niche. I started off by doing Pyrography to create wood signs for friends who wanted their dogs names on them. Since then, I have turned to gourd carving as well. Trying new things are what fuel Creative Whimsy. Originality is the mainstay. No two items are the same weather they be paintings, jewelry, magnets, gourds or many of the other things I create. I’m hoping to open a shop on Etsy this next year with further expansions possible at a later date but I will always be a part of the Greeneville Farmers Market as long as I live here. The atmosphere is fantastic with a warm feeling of family.

SPOTLIGHT OF THE WEEK

SPOT LIGHT OF THE WEEK “The Ole Farm House”

Walter and Judy married 19 years ago, come December 20. Walter already had a farm, and Judy always dreamed of living on a farm. Side note here, Judy was a very, very, City Girl. Trust me Walter does not let her forget that for one minute either.
Well, Judy asked for a goat, and that one goat turned into over 100. Now that has been scaled waaay back, as we got older, and not able to maintain that many goats. Right now the herd sets at 25, with more on the way. We sell goats for meat, by live wt., goats for breeding stock, and pets. We use the milk from the goats in our very own Goat Granny’s Handmade Soap. We make our soap in small batches right here on the farm.
We have grown a rather large garden for 19 years. Mostly because Judy’s Mom and Dad loved to garden and eat fresh produce. Since they passed away, we scaled back quit a bit, for awhile. But we have added a small greenhouse, and planted a really large garden this last year and sell our locally grown produce (no pesticides) at the Greeneville Farmers Market, gfm.locallygrown.net, and from the farm. Our Ole Farm House, located on the farm, houses our Ceramic & Pottery Studio, U Paint Studio, Goat Granny’s Soaps and other local crafters items available to purchase. We also have an in house Licensed Massage Therapist available by appointment.
You can find us on Face Book, and Web Page. Or call 423-639-7616

Winter, Summer, Spring or Fall

I’m so confused. So is the weather man, and the plants.

I made the mistake of putting all my summer clothes away, thinking winter was finally here, only to have to pull some of them out again yesterday.

AND, the garden was done for, I thought and it thought, now I am finding things re-growing. Talk about confused.

Well no matter, just check in with our vendors here with our online market and see what they have available each week during the “off” season.

I would suggest checking Daily before you order on Thursday evening as some of our vendors change or add things during the week.

JUST A HEADS UP: THE ONLINE MARKET WILL BE CLOSED THE WEEK OF THANKSGIVING TO GIVE THIS WRITER A BREAK AND A VACATION.

Keep shopping and if you have questions and need answers you can always call.

Abundance

Late Garden Goodness

Wow, we at The Ole Farm House, have an abundance of produce still coming in.
Okra, Swiss Chard, Bell Peppers, Jalapeno Peppers, Hungarian Peppers, Lettuce, Carrots, Paprika Peppers, Beets. Cooking, Dehydrating, Canning & Freezing are still taking up our “free” time. But how wonderful it is to eat fresh, local food, and save the rest for winter eating.

Several of our vendors have things still available.

BE sure and check the listings.

We have a couple of vendors with Farm Fresh Eggs, Brown & White.

There are crafts available for Christmas gifts.

There is a Minimum $20 order from this site. It does Not have to be all from one vendor.

Open Year Round

Our Physical Market is now closed for the season. But you can still find most of our Vendors have things available year round right here.

Shop with them year round. Check back often for added products. You will find some fall produce here as it is available.

We will send out information as the months pass about the opening date of next years physical market.

Thanks for a great season and we will see you soon.
